I wanted a camera with a long range zoom, I had an Olympus with a 10x but it was bulky and I finally just got a point and shoot with a 3x. While this was a good camera I missed the zoom. I have had this only about three weeks and have not had time to read the book, but just taking it out of the box and shooting I have been very pleased. The quality of pictures seem very good and I love the size, easy to carry in my purse but always have the ability to zoom in where I please. I am a point and shoot person and for me it is perfect, also like how when you change modes it tells you what it is supposed to do. Not sure how it would be for someone wanting to take professional shots but for the average picture taker it is great. The metal case makes it feel very sturdy and like you have a very expensive camera. A good value for the money.

This camera was out of the box perfect. Does an amazing job in the Auto format...even zooming for close work. Top drawer camera for the money!

I was very happy with the time it took to receive the camera I ordered. It was a surprise for my wife's birthday and it was frustrating for me when I realized Amazon was sending me several follow-up emails each week, such as "For someone who just recently purchased a digital camera....", and others, I had to rush to the computer each day before my wife caught on that I bought her one. The sales person at Best Buy told me how wonderful this camera was and I read all the great reviews so I decided to get it. I also thought the camera was amazing. The pictures looked wonderful on the camera and even when quickly viewing them on the computer. When I went to print out an 8x10 of my daughter from one of the pictures I took I was floored at how horrible the picture quality was. I thought maybe it was that picture so I went and looked at all of the pictures at full pixels on the computer and they were all very grainy. I went into best buy and talked to the man who had helped me and he thought for sure I just had a defective camera so he took the a new one in teh store, took a picture and printed it out and it was the same thing!! A camera of this quality should not have a problem printing an 8x10 and I could even tell on 4x6 pictures I printed. My old cannon 5 mega pixel camera prints beautiful 8x10's, this camera is just a bad apple. Dont waste your money or be fooled by how great the camera seems!

This is an excellent compact camera loaded with features. Takes great pictures in multiple settings and formats. Suggest purchasing an extra battery or two. However, battery fully charges in an hour or less. Also recommend an 8 or 16 GB card so you don't run out of space taking pictures/videos at an event.
