 "Canon PowerShot A380 10mp" 2010-03-12
By Patricia Mitchell (Whiting, NJ USA)
I like this camera plus that fact I got it in my favorite color BLUE....I only find one thing I do NOT like. My last canon had a zoom in lens to 23X, this camera is only 13X. While that is good, I would rather focus a little closer. I recommend this for daily use. I am never without my camera. This is light and easily portable. Anyone who gets this will be happy about it.

 "Awesome little camera!" 2010-03-12

I was looking for a camera to purchase for my 9 year old daughter. I was skeptical about point n shoot cameras due to the bad luck I have had in the past. Then, out of the blue, I was at a local camera shop, and tested this one out, based on the salesman's recommendation. I did a whole bunch of shots, and pretty much all of them turned out. I was quite amazed. I did look at reviews, and most of them were pretty positive. One review had me a little worried in that the reviewer stated that the pictures turned out grainy. I didn't find this at all when I tested this camera. So, I bought it on the basis of how easy it is to use, and not that complicated. When I got it home, I opened it up, put batteries in it, and put in the memory card. I did a couple test shots, and low and behold I found what the reviewer was talking about. When you take a picture, the immediate preview is grainy, but upon reviewing the archives, the picture turns out nothing like the "preview". Full color, and clarity was awesome! My daughter opened it up on her birthday, and she hasn't put it down since. Every night we go through the pictures, and it has created a bonding moment for the two of us. That my friend is priceless!

 "Cannon camera review" 2010-03-04
By Kathleen M. Oconnor (No. Billerica, MA United States)
Very pleased with the camera. There is just one thing that has a concern with me and that is that I have adjusted all the sounds that I can on the camera but I have never heard the 2 beeps when you push the shutter 1/2 way done to let you know that the picture is in focus.

"Not up to the Canon standard AT ALL" 2010-03-03
By S. Smith (Los Angeles, CA USA)
I've had Canon ELPH/Powershot cameras for years, and have loved every one. This is the first exception. The flash has to "charge" between each photo, (what is this? a disposable?), a lot of the pictures are blurry, and the feel of the camera is clunky and plastic. There's no video, which at this point I sort of assume would be the case on all of these types of cameras. For an extra $50, the 1200 is in a totally different league. I'm still a big fan of Canon, but they've totally dropped the ball on this one.

"No capturing the moment - it's gone!" 2010-03-03
By S. Burnside (Brownstown, IN, USA)
After 3 weeks of playing around with the settings, upgrading to photo lithium batteries, using a better memory card, etc., I finally sent the camera back. The camera took too long to focus on the subject to get a good picture. By the time it registered, the "photo moment" was gone or the picture turned out blurry. Forget action shots as there was no way this camera could keep up with any movement. The battery seemed to really lag behind between shots (about 6-8 seconds to recharge the flash) even after I changed to better batteries.

This camera was extremely aggravating to use. Thank goodness I decided to return it within my 30 days and Amazon refunded my money. I would not recommend this camera to anyone wanting to capture kids in action. The treasured moments will be long gone before the camera decides to actually take the shot (and then it might not be a clearly focused one).
